I also purchased a few non-sale/list items which contributed about $30 to the total which brings the savings closer to 49% for those items on the list. Additionally we haven't had need to buy groceries very much lately because of previous stocking up. We purchased $100 of groceries two weeks ago and pay $30 every other week to a CSA for organic produce.

This week was about taking advantage of the meat sales due to the Labor Day holiday and stocking the freezer. We estimate that we vacuum sealed and froze over 30lbs of meat. Assuming a 1/2lb of meat per person for a meal and there being only two of us that's easily 30 hearty meat-based meals at a cost of approximately $1.60 per person.
We also spent $23 at the farmer's market on vegetables/fruit and $33 at a local farm stand for green beans and tomatoes to can.

This was our first week back on budget. We spent a bit more than we normally would as we were replenishing the pantry and freezer. A large portion of the items were staples for the pantry or added to the freezer. One of the best investments we've made was our vacuum sealer and the chest freezer.
